Ahh…. XL14 user worked crossing. Not interlocked to the signalling system so even when the light is red, you can raise the barriers (though that would be a bad idea as line-speed is 90mph in this section) Another safety feature is, if these barriers are raised for longer than 90seconds, the signal cabin will receive an alarm so the signalman can warn approaching trains that the barriers are in the raised position, Though the crossing isn’t interlocked to signalling so the barriers being up will not put any signals to danger. It’s a great crossing as long as it’s used correctly.
